OMAHA (KPTM) - The sister of a 24-year-old killed Sunday night in a shooting outside of a West Omaha bar is hoping police can catch her murderer.
The deadly shooting occurred outside Passion Lounge near the corner of 108th and Q Streets around 2 A.M. claiming the life of Janee Hadan. Her family tells us she got caught in the crossfire as she was about to leave.
"My sister was all I had," said a tearful Makayla Walker. "That's why I called her my backbone."
Hadan was rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident where Walker spent a few more precious moments with her. It would be the final time she would ever see her again alive.
"And then I saw a teardrop come out of her eye and her heart rate went up," recalled Walker. "I know she could hear me."
For Walker, there are now so many more questions than answers.
"How could somebody just take her life?"
Adding to the heartbreak, Hadan leaves behind a young son and a nephew with her sister now facing the difficult task of explaining why somebody so close to the boys will be gone forever.
"How do you look at a two-year-old and say your aunt isn't coming home? How do you look at a three-year-old and say your mother is in Heaven?"
Omaha police say two other people were also injured in Sunday morning's shooting. They're expected to be okay, but investigators say nobody has been caught yet in connection to the murder.
If you know anything that could lead to the capture of somebody, you're urged to call the Omaha Police Department or Crime Stoppers as soon as possible.
