COUNCIL BLUFFS (KPTM)- Police said a Council Bluffs mom is facing harassment and terroristic threats charges, all because of a facebook post.
Police said officials from Lewis Central High School called police after noticing a post from 39-year-old Teri Pallat on Monday.
Council Bluffs Police sent the post to Fox 42 in a press release.
"And they asked why do people shoot up schools, well this is exactly why and when our son does it cause I know he will have nobody to blame but the administration and I promise everyone he will only get the ones that caused this. He is an excellent marks men."
Police said Meredith and Teri Pallat's son has been bullied at Lewis Central High School since September 2012. Meredith Pallat filed a police report on November 18th, 2013. In it she said her son was the victim of ongoing bullying at the school. The case is still being investigated by police.
Detectives took Pallat into custody Monday night after learning about the post. She was arrested and is now out of jail on bond.
Teri Pallat is not commenting on the case at this time and has been in contact with a lawyer.
"We are taking these threats very seriously," said Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilbur.
"I don't think there is such a thing as over reacting. This came of the heels of the anniversary of Sandy Hook. There was another school shooting in Colorado in the past few days."
Pallat faces 5 years in prison for Terroristic Threats and two more for harrassmanet. She is out on bond and is expected to have a preliminary hearing in the next few weeks.
