OMAHA (KPTM) - An average looking Joe caught on surveillance tape at pharmacies metrowide is on the radar of local police departments. He's suspected of robbing at least four pharmacies in two weeks from Omaha to Council Bluffs.
"Especially this time of year, you see a lot more robberies around Christmas time," said Jim Quinley, a local pharmacist.
Quinley notes when thieves do strike they usually go after the drug called Oxycontin; a bottle that could be worth up to $8,000 on the streets.
"It's called hillbilly heroin. It's a slow release product, but if they crush it up they get a quick high," said Quinley.
Police are now looking into what exactly the connection is between the crimes. Just as importantly, they're trying to figure out who the guy is caught on cameras before he has the chance to go after anybody else.
Investigators told FOX 42 News Friday they're following a few tips to see if they develop into leads. Right now, they're looking for a man about six feet tall in his late twenties. He's also said to have bruising and scarring on his face.
