Humane Society Offers $1000.00 for information on the Killing of This Pit Bull

OMAHA (KPTM)- This Pit Bull, believed to be 5-7 years old was starved to death and dropped off in a North Omaha alley on Monday.

"It breaks my heart. We should love our pets," said Treasure Baker. The dog was found just outside of her back yard near 32nd and Decatur.

"I can't believe this is happening in our neighborhood," said Baker who owns a dog and four cats.

"I love animals,"

Somebody wrapped the dog in Old Navy Jeans and sheets and placed it in the alley.

"It was very skinny. Animal Control officers noticed it more than likely starved to death and our veterinarians confirmed that the dog had no food in its stomach whatsoever. So it appears it probably died in somebody's yard, totally neglected and rather than call us, they wrapped it in jeans and sheets and dumped it like a piece of trash," said Mark Langan, Field Operations Vice President, Nebraska Humane Society.

The Nebraska Humane Society is offering a $1000.00 reward to anyone who has information that leads to the arrest of the people responsible.

"This is a class 4 felony punishable of up to five years on prison," said Langan.
