Police Investigate Accidental Shooting Outside Glenwood School

GLENWOOD, Iowa (KPTM) - Police in Glenwood, Iowa are investigating an accidental shooting that happened Friday afternoon outside an elementary school.

Police say Douglas Trent Good called 911 after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Good was outside Glenwood West Elementary School, and was on school property.

Glenwood School Superintendent told FOX 42 News that Good is the parent of a student there.

Police say Good had a 9mm handgun, and went to the hospital, but did not know how badly he was hurt.

The Glenwood Police Department says it is investigating why Good had a gun on school property and how the shooting happened.
