Thieves Fail to Steal ATM from Car Wash and Gas Station

Posted: Updated:

OMAHA (KPTM)- Thieves attempted to steal an ATM from an Omaha Russell Speeders Car wash and gas station early Tuesday morning.

Video surveillance shows the thieves pulling up to the gas station around 3 o'clock on Tuesday in a late 90s, silver Chevy suburban.

Two people got out of the car and broke a window with a sledgehammer.

The thieves then threw merchandise racks over the floor and wrapped a chain around an ATM in the back of the store.

When the thieves motioned for the driver to go, the chain broke, and it was all caught on camera.

"We can do everything that we want to, but there is still bad people out there who have no regard for other people's property," said Kris, a manager at Russell Speeders.

The owner of the station promised a $2,000 reward to anyone who helps police make an arrest.
