OMAHA (KPTM) – A man admitted in court Thursday that he shot his friend after what started as playful wrestling.

23-year-old Michael Overgaard plead no contest to second-degree assault. In exchange for this plea, Overgaard's other charged of first-degree assault was dropped.

Police said Overgaard shot Paul Gordon in his mid-section during a party near South 45th and A streets around 4 a.m. on February 2 last year.

Overgaard is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on April 2. He faces one to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
