Boston MA (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
On January 25, 2014, Buzzflash.com presented more than a face-lift on their web portal. After nearly a month of touch-ups and responding to user input, on Feburary 25th, 2013, the site is officially launched. See Mark Karlins commentary article on the new site: http://www.truth-out.org/buzzflash/commentary/welcome-to-the-new-enhanced-buzzflash-at-truthout-reader-tips. CNP Integrations worked with the Truthout and Buzzflash news teams to launch an exciting new Buzzflash Headlines web portal using the cutting edge technology of the Joomla CMS platform.
The two news information channels of Buzzflash Headlines and Buzzflash Commentary became a viral online sensation in 2000 as Buzzflash.com began reaching millions of visitors. They presented an alternative perspective on often neglected news and information to an audience hungry for truthful journalism. The Buzzflash news team lead by Mark Karlin quickly gained a track record of helping viewers connect to the most topical alternative headlines not always covered in mainstream media sources. They connected viewers with quick access to blog articles, videos and headlines from around the world, acting like a watchdog and research group for monitoring a variety of sources, consolidating this information and making it available at a single location.
By 2004, Buzzflash Headlines traffic had grown to over four million visitors per month. This number has declined slightly in the years since, but the editorial team is ramping up for some new life using this great new portal concept. In August 2010, Buzzflash.com became part of Truthout.org in a move that enabled both sites to reach out to each others like-minded readers and communities.
Though the Buzzflash portal has had a couple minor face-lifts over the years, until this relaunch, it has utilized a technology platform that is now nearly 14 years old. It was time to build a platform with which Buzzflash could grow with the current trends and demands of a fast-paced information generation. The new site has kept all of the great features the readership appreciates but is now using the latest version of the Joomla CMS as an engine to manage and deliver content.
By leveraging the Joomla CMS, the Buzzflash team can now take advantage of improved security and a responsive design, so viewers can access content directly in their desktops, mobile devices and tablets all from the same platform. In addition to the standard features that Buzzflash readers have grown to love, users can now rate headlines. Combined with clean new design elements, this powerful Joomla platform will help spark the Buzzflash community and pick up some well-deserved enthusiasm.
